We love travel just as much as you. Tying together our love of aviation and tourism we created Kimberley Air Tours.

The Kimberley is vast, rugged and spine tingling beautiful. We know its secrets and our team look forward to leading you on your Kimberley journey.

We are Leigh and Jaclyn Rawlings, Owner and Operators of Kimberley Air Tours.

How did we get here?

Our first connection to the Kimberley began in 2005 when Leigh got his first flying job conducting scenic flights. With a desire for something more than just being a Pilot, Leigh developed the idea of starting a scenic flight aviation business utilising seaplanes to offer a niche tourism offering in the Kimberley.

Why? The challenge. The adventure. An opportunity for us to utilise our skills together to create a vibrant aviation/tourism business.

Fast forward to 2010, which saw us packing up our life into our minibus, saying goodbye to Melbourne and driving up the middle of outback Australia, heading North to Kununurra in the East Kimberley. Commencing with fellow Pilots and business partners, our business opened its doors in Kununurra on July 20th 2010, starting with the 2 seaplanes that we still have today.

With the office in the spare bedroom, to gaining a block of land on the bank of the Ord River to base the seaplanes, our business evolved year by year, growing rapidly. 2012 saw the introduction of fixed wing aeroplanes to the fleet which allowed us to diversify and become more flexible.

Our seasonal base at the well-known El Questro Wilderness Park was established in 2014 to offer their inhouse guests scenic air tours and transfers directly from their premises. Taking on full ownership in 2015, we now have a fleet of 2 seaplanes, 7 fixed wing aeroplanes and a team of 13 incredible individuals. In 2016 we developed our Broome base to offer fixed wing air tours showcasing the world-famous Horizontal Falls and Mitchell Falls.

The best part of Kimberley Air Tours is spending time with people every day who love travel as much as we do.

We really can’t describe how excited we get about delivering personal, high quality touring experiences. And we don’t just deliver them, we ensure every one of our family holiday involves a scenic flight, too. It opens our eyes to how other operators do things and inspires us to keep developing ourselves.
