Bungle Bungle & Lake Argyle Island Experience (BLI)

Make your Bungle Bungle experience even more memorable with the added thrill of landing on Lake Argyle for a remote island stop over.Leaving the Kununurra township behind, we depart to the south over the Ord Irrigation Area, along Spillway Creek, the overflow for Australia’s largest fresh water lake. View the Ord Top Dam wall before following the full 60 kilometre expanse of Lake Argyle down to some of our iconic Kimberley cattle country. We cross the Osmond Ranges before entering the heritage listed Purnululu National Park, home of the Bungle Bungle Range. See the magnificent striped ‘beehive’ domes and some of the many gorges hidden within.

Heading north we track to the Argyle Diamond Mine, one of the world’s largest producers of diamonds. Follow the western shoreline of Lake Argyle before coming in for a graceful water landing to begin your island experience. Step off the floats onto a secluded island beach and take in the vastness of Lake Argyle from a whole new perspective. This is the ultimate location to take the perfect postcard photograph. Enjoy a selection of locally made cakes and a cup of tea or coffee while taking the opportunity to spot some local wildlife. On return, weave above the gorges formed by the Ord River back into Kununurra.

This is more than just a scenic flight, it’s an experience!
